Do you want to produce clothes that are flame retardant? Bhabha Atomic Research Centre has developed a technology for it.
The technology is to produce a transparent liquid, which is based on ‘ graphene quantum dot (pf-GOQ)’ technology. You take your cotton cloth and dip it into the liquid—the cloth then acquires flame-retardant property.
The pf-GOQ liquid is non-toxic and does not cause the fabric to lose its color. BARC has tested it successfully for temperatures up to 1,000 degrees C, at the National Fire Test Facility, IIT .
BARC offers this technology for a fee of Rs 200,000.
