BARC has developed a compact, high stability, high voltage module operating off 24V dc. In general, high stability, high voltage power supplies find numerous applications in analytical instruments. This HV module can be used for ion acceleration, ion optics, channel electron multipliers, photo multipliers, electrostatic lens, energy analyzers and a lot of other analytical applications. This module provides a 50ppm stable output of up to 5kV @ 2mA, with a low ripple content of 100mV (p-p). The module can be configured for a positive or negative polarity output.
The HV module operates on 24V/1A DC input and produces an adjustable output, voltage from 0 to 5kV with a maximum load current of 2mA.The module design is based on compound regulation technique wherein a linear regulator feeds power to a high frequency DC-DC converter (double ended fly back configuration) operating at around 50 kHz with a fixed duty cycle of 10%. High regulation is achieved by a high gain dc feedback closed loop circuit.
This module is protected against two common potentially disastrous faults; accidental shorts to ground and overload currents, for reliable and trouble free operation.
